To save the future of our beloved cats and the cats of Amami
If something happens to me
I wonder what will happen to my child...
Even in old age
I want to live with a cat.
But I'm also worried about the future...
I found a poor stray cat.
I wonder if they'll take it...
My parents decided to enter a facility.
What should I do about my pet cat...?

This system was born from such voices.
This is a system in place where, if something happens to the owner, the Amami Cat Club will protect the cat and connect it with a new family.
We are currently receiving many enquiries, but we often do not have the capacity to take care of the children.
Most cats that are not adopted end up on the streets and dying.
This is a necessary system for Amami Oshima, in order to prevent such hardships from occurring and to ensure that the island remains a comfortable place to live for people, cats, and wild animals.
And there are still many stray cats in need of protection.
To address this issue, we need to continue operating the Amami Cat Club.
This system was created with the idea that cat owners and cat lovers could all help each other.
We hope you will consider supporting and cooperating with us.

It is impossible to carry out any more self-sacrificing activities.
We also receive many inquiries from residents and other remote islands.
In order to continue the activities of the Amami Cat Club,
We need your cooperation.
It is a system that combines "savings," "insurance," and "donations."
We ask for your cooperation.

Frequently asked questions
Q.01
If my cat dies, will I get a refund?
No, we don't.
Please note that the membership fee will be paid as a donation, which will be used to continue running the Amami Cat Club, protect Amami's stray cats, and help preserve the natural and social environment.
Q.03
What happens if I leave my cat and can't find a new home for it?
At Amami Cat Club, we will take responsibility for caring for your cat until the very end.
In the meantime, we will continue to look for new family members to welcome into our home.
Q.05
I don't live on Amami Oshima, but would you still adopt me?
Yes. As long as you join the program, it doesn't matter where you live in the country. However, if you would like someone to pick up your pet, you will be charged for transportation, accommodation, and other personnel costs. Thank you for your understanding.
Q.02
I adopted a cat from the Amami Cat Club. Is the cost the same?
We will accept Amami Cat Club graduates free of charge, but you will need to pay membership fees for at least three years (180,000 yen or more excluding tax).
Q.04
Will you take in my pet even if it has a chronic illness?
We will take in cats with chronic illnesses (kidney disease, diabetes, etc.), cats that are positive for feline AIDS or feline leukemia, and even cats that are elderly.
However, if emergency treatment for an injury or illness (such as emergency surgery or hospitalization), spay/neuter surgery, or tests such as virus checks are required, additional fees will be charged.
Q.06
I am not enrolled in the program, but can you still collect my pet right away?
Yes, we will collect your equipment if you pay three years' worth of membership fees and the collection fee all at once.
However, if virus checks or spay/neuter surgery are required at that time, additional fees will be charged.
