奄美猫部、また、運営母体であるcafe COVO TANA（コボタナ）は、地元出身のスタッフが中心となり、奄美大島のネコに関わる多くの問題に取り組んでいます。「適正飼育の普及啓発イベント開催」や、「外ネコ生息調査」、「猫の保護譲渡活動」、それに伴う様々な「相談業務」など多岐にわたります。 猫の保護譲渡活動は、想像以上に労力・気力に加えかなりの費用がかかります。何度も捨て猫や置き猫の被害にも遭いました。イベントや調査も限られた人員で必死に継続し、相談業務に至っては、悲惨な現状やトラブルなど、心労が絶えないことも多く何度もくじそうになりながらの活動です。 それでも頑張る原動力は、自分たちの生まれ育った奄美大島がより良い島になってほしい、そして、そんな素晴らしい島を次世代につなげたい！という思いから。 活動資金は、COVO TANAの売上の持ち出しや皆様からのご寄付からやっと捻出しておりますが、現状は全く足りず私生活も犠牲にしての活動を続けています。 cafe COVO TANAや猫カフェGattiの利用はもちろん、オンラインストアでのお買い物、キャットシッターのご依頼など、支援につながるツールやサービスもたくさん展開しております。 もちろん、直接のご寄付は本当にありがたく、随時募っております。 活動が継続できるよう、どうかご協力ご支援をよろしくお願いいたします。

In particular, rescue and adoption activities require costs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including expensive medical expenses, daily food costs, toilet supplies, air conditioning management, etc. The situation remains difficult, with it being difficult to even cover the personnel costs for cleaning and care.
With a large number of pets, we use up a lot of consumables, such as litter boxes. We would also appreciate your support in the form of litter boxes. We have listed these items on our Amazon wish list, so please support us.
Blankets and towels (fleece is even better) are also helpful.

The COVO TANA online store finally opened in the summer of 2023. It sells sweets from "cafe COVO TANA," the Amami Cat Club Secretariat where it all began, as well as Amami Cat Club merchandise, and collaborative products with companies that share the same philosophy and vision.
The sweets at cafe COVO TANA are made with care and attention by the staff, who share a common bond with Amami Neko Club, with the aim of making each one gentle on both the body and mind.

When traveling, on a business trip, or staying overnight in hospital,
We will take care of your cat on behalf of your family.
Cats are sensitive to changes in their environment and are prone to stress.
To ensure that your pet is left at home with minimal stress, our sitters will visit your pet's familiar home and provide daily care and report on their health.
To ensure you can use our services with peace of mind, we place importance on prior consultations and would like to be involved in caring for your cat.

Support the cats by playing at cafe COVO TANA or a cat cafe
Cafe COVO TANA, the Amami Cat Club Secretariat, is a relaxing cafe with a view of the sea. They offer fluffy Parisian baguette sandwiches and a wide range of cafe menu items. You are also welcome to visit Gatti, a cat cafe where rescued cats live.
We welcome not only people who want to keep a cat, but also cat lovers and even those who are just a little interested.
Cats have a wide variety of personalities, some friendly, some selfish, some mischievous, some shy.
Our cat cafe is located in the attic and is quite small, which means you can get up close to the cats and enjoy a richer interaction.
The more you enjoy it, the more it will help our cause.
It will also help you become more familiar with cats, and it can even help shy cats get used to people.
Of course, it would also be a great help if you would welcome one of Gatti's rescued cats into your family.
If you are interested in keeping a cat, please consider adopting one from Gatti. (Currently, this offer is limited to those living on Amami Oshima.)
