What is the Amami Cat Club?
This is an organization established to solve various problems surrounding cats on Amami Oshima.
In addition to solving the cat problem, we are working to make Amami Oshima a place where people, cats, and wild animals can all live comfortably, exploring how to achieve a better coexistence between people, pets including cats, and the natural environment, while working to make Amami Oshima a more mature island where the islanders can protect the unique assets that are unique to the island.
Whether you love cats or not, we are always looking for members and supporters who love Amami Oshima!!

The Amami Cat Club aims to make Amami Oshima a place where people, cats, and wild animals can all live comfortably, and we hold awareness-raising events and lectures, as well as rescue and adoption activities for outdoor cats.
We are barely able to cover expenses such as expenses and medical costs through membership fees and donations, and most of the personnel costs for our activities are paid by unpaid volunteers.
We would like to ask everyone who supports the activities of the Amami Cat Club to consider making a donation.
Other relief supplies are also accepted.
Cat litter boxes, cages, carrier cases, food, etc.
Any spare bath towels, fleece, or large pieces of fabric would be greatly appreciated. Second-hand items are also welcome. Thank you for your cooperation.
About proper care
"Keeping an animal" requires not only love, but also money and time. Unlike stuffed animals or toys, animals are living creatures with the same lives as humans, living bravely. If everyone is careful, we can reduce the number of cats that are euthanized and end up on the street.
Furthermore, it will also reduce damage to Amami rabbits and other animals. Please be a kind owner who listens to what your cat wants.

All five municipalities on Amami Oshima - Amami City, Tatsugo Town, Uken Village, Yamato Village, and Setouchi Town - have enacted similar "Ordinances on the Proper Care and Management of Pet Cats." The Amami Cat Club is also working to promote proper care in accordance with these ordinances.
